Can you please add the ability to manually curate news items in the News Center web part, instead of (via a toggle on/off option) or in addition to pulling news from certain site folders? Some of the items we need to display in the News Center can point to existing pages or events in our custom built calendar and don’t need their own separate standalone news pages. If there were a manual option, we can direct people to specific links like is possible with the Banner With News Plus web part. We would love to be able to include those items in the News Center without adding multiple additional clicks to people’s journeys to get to where they need to go.

Thanks for posting @blattmane. We’d like to clarify something about this request.
Currently News Center already lets you show items that point to an events page or even external page. Here is how to configure that:

Instead of creating a News Post, create a News link:

Then, set the URL of the external page or events page

You can change the image that will be shown in the News Center here and that’s it, just hit post and the link will be posted in the News Center. When users click on the post, it will take them to that events page or external page just as you wanted.
