Looking for a new web part that allows the creation of tabs that you can add web parts to, not just text or cards.
Very similar to the popular “Hillbilly Tabs” here: The Return of Hillbilly Tabs – MarkRackley.net
Key requirement: I would want the ability to style the tabs to look like the News Center Web Part:
Extra points for audience targeting - that could be added later 
Thank you for your suggestion, we do see this request come up occasionally in support requests.
While it’s technically possible to build tabs that host other web parts, solutions like this tend to rely heavily on SharePoint’s internal web part DOM structure. Since that structure changes frequently in SharePoint Online, it can make this type of web part quite unstable over time.
We’re very cautious about introducing features into Origami that depend on undocumented or frequently changing behavior, as reliability is a big priority for us. That said, we completely understand the use case (including the News Center–style look), and we keep an eye on supported patterns from Microsoft that could enable this more safely in the future.
