Request for ability to add multiple rows to "Tabs with Cards" web part

Web part name (as shown in web part properties) to which you’re suggesting an enhancement – Tabs with Cards
What is current web part behavior (or look) that doesn’t work for you? – There is only one row of cards, which limits the functionality of the web part and reduces its usability. Additionally, only being able to have a single row of cards makes it look less website-like.
What would you like the web part behavior (or look) to be? – Ability to add multiple rows of cards.
What is the scenario for which you need the suggested new look/behavior? Usability and design appearance of a company’s intranet.

Thank you for your suggestion!
We just have a couple of follow-up questions to better understand your needs:

  • Did you know that you can stack multiple Tabs with Cards web parts? Would using multiple sections like this help achieve the design you’re aiming for?

  • When there are more cards than can fit in one row, the web part currently displays them in a horizontal slider with an arrow to scroll through. Are you looking for an option to show the extra cards on a second row instead, without the slider?

  1. I had considered that option but stacking the web parts still keeps the cards separated, which makes the process of updating them more complex than it would seemingly need to be. It also limits the functionality of the tabs portion of the web part, as I could not apply one set of tabs at the top to both web parts, so the second web part would have to have the tabs turned off and wouldn’t be filterable like the top web part, which makes the end user experience less streamlined.
  2. Yes, an option to show the cards as a second (or even third, fourth, etc.) row would sufficiently address the need. As a suggestion, maybe you could add a toggle-able setting to the web part that allows users to choose between a carousel and grid format to display the cards in? SharePoint’s “Highlighted Content” default web part is a good example of the grid format that I’m thinking of.
