What is current web part behavior (or look) that doesn’t work for you?
We would like to be able to put the list of events next to the calendar. Which you can do - but you cannot remove the events from under the calendar, so it just shows up twice.

just the ability to have events NEXT to the calendar, not necessarily underneath
