What is current web part behavior (or look) that doesn’t work for you?

Currently events are displayed below or beside the calendar in a list format based on the selected days in the month. This isn’t much different than the default Microsoft Group Calendar web part. We’d like to have events displayed on the calendar grid itself in a more traditional format.

What would you like the web part behavior (or look) to be?

Ideally we’d like the calendar to display the Group’s events for the month at large in a visual manner as opposed to a list. If that’s not possible, perhaps an indicator dot or visual marking displayed next to the numbers on the current calendar dates can indicate events or a specific number events occurs on that day, which then leads the user to reference the event list.

If a traditional calendar + event view isn’t feasible, perhaps the middle ground is displaying a series of dots next to the dates to indicate events or number of events. The image below has two events on the 10th and three on the 25th for example.

What is the scenario for which you need the suggested new look/behavior?

We are moving from utilizing on-prem SharePoint calendars to online group calendars. Our users are used to the more traditional look and feel of Microsoft’s calendar display but many modern web parts are trying to reinvent the wheel.
