What is current web part behavior (or look) that doesn’t work for you?

When a user adds a quick link, all other users can see that quick link in the corresponding List.

What would you like the web part behavior (or look) to be?

I want each user to see ONLY the quick links that they created as some of our colleagues work on secret projects. I can not change the permissions of the list (as it will not work for all employees if I do so), but is there a way for you to take viewing permissions away from all users except for the user that created that specific quick link?

What is the scenario for which you need the suggested new look/behavior?

I do not want every employee to be able to see other employee’s personal quick links as we all work on different projects and some of those projects are secret even internally. This could create confidentiality problems.

Thank you for flagging this @kwilson. This is an oversight in our documentation and has just been corrected.

We’re adding necessary configuration steps here, and the manual has already been updated.

1. Go to list settings of “PersonalizedQuickLinks” list on your site

2. and click Advanced settings as shown below:

3. Set Item-level Permissions as shown below to ensure users can only see their own links:

4. Click OK at the bottom of the page to save settings.
