What would you like the web part behavior (or look) to be?

We would like the option to limit the amount of quick links each user can create. Under the toggle for allowing users to add links visible only for them, we would suggest to add a max number of links determined by admin, depending on the size of the company.

What is the scenario for which you need the suggested new look/behavior?

Due to the API limits usage of 5,000 items per List, we want to make sure that each employee has the option to create their own custom quick links, and that a select number of people do not fill up the shared space to ensure things run quickly and smoothly.

Thank you for your suggestion @kwilson, it makes sense, we will run this by engineering and post an update here when this is ready.

Hi @kwilson good catch. When the total amount of links exceeds 5,000 the list functions normally, as it can hold up to 30 million items (SharePoint limits - Service Descriptions | Microsoft Learn).
However, the view threshold is indeed 5,000 items.
We added 2 more steps to the manual so that view threshold is not affecting the web part.
