Web part name (as shown in web part properties) to which you’re suggesting an enhancement
- Quick Links Plus
What is current web part behavior (or look) that doesn’t work for you?
- When clicking the left and right arrow keys on the Quick Links Plus web part it scrolls through the list one at a time. If you have a large amount of links that you would like to be easily accessible through this webpart it is cumbersome to get to a link at the end of the list.
> Have a screenshot (please do not include confidential info in your screenshots)?
This image includes the behavior as it is today above the purple line and the desired outcome below the purple line.
- The First Quick links Plus in the image is the default view.
- The second Quick Links Plus in the image being the normal behavior.
- The third being the desired behavior.
What would you like the web part behavior (or look) to be?
- When clicking the arrows left or right I would like the option to not click each time to see the next Quick Link in the web part. Instead the webpart identifies the total number of links visible based on the space you have allocated and progresses that amount of Quick Links with each click. In the example above there are 18 total Quick Links with 9 visible. If you click the arrows it would progress 9. If you have 15 Quick Links with 9 visible it will take you to the end of the list. If you had 21 Quick Links you would click the arrow once for 10-18 and another time to see the end of the web part.
> Have a sketch or a mockup?
- See the image above under the purple line. Please let me know if I can provide further clarification on the request.
What is the scenario for which you need the suggested new look/behavior?
- For our organization home page we have a large amount of quick links for important systems that users go into everyday that are quickly accessible from this page. We have all of the links that are most used at the front of the list but some of the buttons that are only used by about 60%-70% of the organization are at the end. For a cleaner look the preference is to be able to scroll a large amount of links at once opposed to make the section taller which takes up more of the page.
