Initial set up

When you add the web part to the page for the first time, you’ll need to create a list where your Kudos will be saved.
To do that, open the web part properties and click Create Kudos button.

This will create a list called Kudos on the site.

Now you need to give permissions to this list for all users so that everyone can post Kudos:

  1. Click the Manage Kudos button in the web part properties.

  2. Click GearSite contents

  6. Click Share. This will ensure when Readers share their feedback, this list will allow them to store that feedback.

Setting up email notifications

You can make it so that each time a new recognition is posted, the employee who got recognized or a group of employees gets a simple email letting them know!

To set this up, you need to perform 2 steps:

  1. Update email notification Subject line and Message as desired by going to web part properties:

NOTE: Kudos Page URL is the URL of the page where your Kudos are posted, so an employee can read the details of what was said about them.
You can use the name keywords {firstname}, {lastname}, or {fullname} to pull the user name in notification email or subject line.

  1. You must also have IT admin to set up app permissions described in this post: Enabling the web part to send email from SharePoint
