Originally, we were using the Half Page Banner web part for our site pages. When we resized the banner to around 400px, the curve of the banner would distort and was cropping the uploaded image too much.
As a work around and to also create a more organic looking half circle shape banner (which better aligns with the content and theme of our site), we created a banner image to upload into the Carousel with Expanding Links web part. This has worked well, but it would be great if the subtitle text could wrap onto the next line sooner. Is this possible?
Please see the image below to give you an idea of what is happening.
Also, some of our site pages donât need subtitle text. In these cases, it would be very helpful to have a âTopâ banner text alignment option, alongside the existing âCenteredâ and âBottomâ options.
When the subtitle text and âRead Moreâ button are not used, the title text sits a little too low on the banner. A third alignment option would give us more flexibility and better visual balance.
Is it possible to add a âTopâ text alignment option?
Hi @AJ1 , we have good news!
The team looked at your request and it looks like the original issue was to do with Banner Half-Image web part which prompted you to use Carousel with Expanding Links.
So as a first step, we fixed many of the issues youâve raised with Banner Half-Image. Could you please request an upgrade from support for the Banner Half-Image web part?
Please note that Banner Half-Image options have changed, and if youâre using this web part on pages, after the upgrade you will need to adjust your web part properties slightly with those new options (see 2026 Release Notes).
If this addresses the issue, then all good.
If not, please let us know on this thread and we will make adjustments to Carousel with Expanding Links web part as requested.
Thank you for adding the extra options to fix the shape distortion of the half banner.
We still feel an option is needed to better control the placement of the banner text, as the ideal position (left-right & top-centre-bottom) can vary depending on the size of the banner.
Is a slider to control text position a possibility here?
Overall, the carousel banner is better suited to our needs as it also allows us to link to other important/new pages using the carousel option.
We still need the ability to control where the subheading text wraps onto the next line. Again, having slider margin options or being able to insert a soft return (Shift + Enter) could help where the text sits too close to the banner image/shape.
Also having a third âTopâ text alignment option alongside the âCenteredâ and âBottomâ banner text alignment options would be really helpful.
