We would like the option to customize the size and color of the source of events.

What is the scenario for which you need the suggested new look/behavior?

Currently, the source of events and event names look the same, and it is difficult for users to understand where one stops & the other starts. We want to create a clearer distinction between the two elements for a clearer user experience.

Thank you for pointing that out, it makes sense.
To keep web part configuration interface simple, we’re avoid adding too many config options especially for smaller elements.

Would this alternative at least partially solve your need?
There is a separator “|” between the source name and the event name
