The complete name of the user not displayed in the banner with news webpart

Banner with News Web part name (as shown in web part properties) to which you’re suggesting an enhancement
The welcome message has the command Welcome, {lastname} which displays lastname as per our organisation settings that is the firstname of a person. But, this command doesn’t display the complete lastname of the users when the name has a space in between each word.

We would like to include the complete lastname of the user not just a small part. What would you like the web part behavior (or look) to be?

there are users who have 3 to 4 words as their firstname and the above command doesn’t give the complete name of the user What is the scenario for which you need the suggested new look/behavior?

If my description is not clear we can discuss over a call. As this involves names of users, I haven’t included the screenshot

Thank you for raising this, it is a known limitation with names that have multiple words since the web part doesn’t really know which words make up the first name or the last name.
As a workaround, we recommend these options:

  • Using {fullname} keyword if multi word names and the majority of names.
  • Add dash to display name, if it is a handful of users
