People Directory - Default Refiner Options

Hi,

In the “People Directory” web part - we’d like to have the ability to set the default refiner / filter value.

The default refiner for “Department” is fine; however, we want to be able to place a default value on the web part itself. The dropdown can remain available. We just want it to automatically load with the default filter value.

We’re looking to place this on one of our department pages, and would like the default filter value to be the Department’s name itself.

Thank you for clarifying your use scenario.
You can already pre-filter the directory and make it show that one department.
You’d do this by going to Filters & Refiners and setting a department filter like this:

With filter shown above, only users whose department is “Engineering”, will show in the directory.

Hi,

That’s close, but not quite what we’re looking for.

That limits the dropdown to only that department.

We would like the department dropdown to be preselected to a certain value, but still allow all of the departments to be selected from the dropdown.
