When trying to share your intranet site with external users/ guests, you might run into the following error:
Your organization’s policies don’t allow you to share with these users. Go to External Sharing in the Office 365 admin center to enable it.
Here is how to fix it:

Navigate to your tenant admin home:
https://[TenantName]-admin.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/online/AdminHome.aspx -
Click Sites → Active Sites

Pick the site you would like to enable for external sharing

In the flyout window select the policies tab:

Click Edit on [External sharing]

Set the [New and existing guests]. Here you can optionally limit the domain names that can be added as guests if you need.
