What is current web part behavior (or look) that doesn’t work for you?

I am submitting an enhancement request for the Origami org chart widget to improve usability, readability, and navigation.

The current org chart experience would benefit from several enhancements:

• Display reporting layers on a single level whenever possible to provide a clearer view of organizational relationships.
• Add a visual indicator, such as an expand/collapse icon or arrow, to clearly identify employees who have direct reports.
• Allow users to resize or adjust the org chart to improve readability and accommodate larger team structures.

For reference, I have attached a screenshot of the current experience. As illustrated, our CEO direct reports cannot be displayed on a single row, resulting in a crowded and difficult-to-follow layout. Additionally, it is not immediately apparent how to navigate to lower levels of the organization, making it challenging to understand the reporting hierarchy.

These enhancements would significantly improve the user experience and make the org chart a more effective tool for understanding organizational structure.

Thank you for your suggestion. The screenshot you sent appears to be Microsoft org chart web part.
To add Origami Org Chart web part, look for this icon in your web part gallery:

Origami Org Chart web part already has capabilities you requested:

• if you add a web part to a full width section, it adjusts to show as many people as possible into horizontal space

The ask is

1. if we have staff that report to a manager, we would like to have those users in a singular horizontal position/view or having a way to select how many to show in one single horizontal view. In our case if we have 11 people reporting to a manager show those in one horizonal line. This will give us a clearer view of who reports to who. Along with a text box that states how many people report to the respective manager etc.

2. When selecting the (i) symbol it is taking users to a M365 page and rerouting users out of our SharePoint page

   1. we would like the view that is similar to the SharePoint (adding screenshot of what the SharePoint one looks like). Being able to hover over the user and have the user profile displaying

Regarding the profile flyout:
The specific screenshot you’ve shared is using a component that is deprecated by Microsoft as per below: Person-Card component in Microsoft Graph Toolkit - Microsoft Graph | Microsoft Learn

Native SharePoint web parts, like out of the box SharePoint Org Chart:

• run entirely within SharePoint’s internal page context
• rely on privileged, undocumented, internal APIs
• are not constrained by the SharePoint Framework (SPFx) permission boundaries applied to third-party solutions

This is one of the reason why you see this contact details card still working inside Microsoft but not available to third parties.

With that we’ll leave this enhancement request in the queue and we’ll revisit it when Microsoft releases a replacement path.

Regarding showing more people horizontally:
The web part can only show people that fit into the screen without horizontal scroll. You can place the web part into a full-width section to fit more people, but if there is no space, contacts go to the next line.

I want to follow up on the enhancement since this question wasn’t answered, is there a way to add a text box/test that states how many people report to the respective manager etc.
