Minor aesthetic change.

When choosing to show the source of events when multiple sources are being populated to a single calendar, it’d be nice to have the option to change the name being displayed at the top of each event. Just a “Display Name” category next to the calendar source in the settings?

The issue we’re seeing on departmental sites is with the newly added shared calendar source which uses an email address of the shared mailbox as the input. These departments have multiple calendars with names similar to “planningandzoningworkevents” and “planningandzoningtimeoffrequests” because someone, somewhere along the line, thought to make incredibly long and specific email aliases. If there could be an option to change the display name, it’d be nice QOL change!

Thank you for posting this request @jcritzer.
Could you please share a screenshot of how the event looks like for you now? It doesn’t have to be full calendar screenshot, just the part where the event is displayed and. This would help us articulate the change with the engineering. The rest is pretty clear, thank you for the details.

Just need an option to change the display name to something shorter than the email address.

Congrats, this has been implemented! Please reach out to support to request an update.

Once you install the latest version of the calendar, it will use the **display name** of the shared calendar. The display name can be changed in M365 Admin like this:

If this is a calendar in your Outlook, it can be renamed like this:

The web part will use the name you provide.
