Maintaining a cohesive corporate identity across dozens of SharePoint site collections used to mean hours of tedious manual styling. Setting hex colors, adjusting layouts, and aligning navigation web parts site-by-site slows down rollout and creates brand drift across your intranet.

With **Origami Connect** , you can replicate fully customized web part designs, colors, and layout configurations from a master site to target department sites in under 20 seconds, **no code or PowerShell required**.

> **Why Standardize SharePoint Design Across Sites?**
>
> When building modern SharePoint intranets, organizations frequently hit design bottlenecks:
>
> - **Manual Color Management:** Re-entering hex codes and theme properties for every single web part across HR, IT, and Finance sites takes time and invites errors.
>
> - **Inconsistent UX:** Inconsistent card designs, banners, and quick links confuse employees navigating between departments.
>
> - **Deployment Delays:** Redesigning and styling new site collections from scratch slows down intranet modernization projects.
>
> Origami Connect solves this by letting you save web part visual styles as reusable templates and push them directly across site collections through a centralized tool.

## Step-by-Step: Copying SharePoint Branding with Origami Connect

### Step 1: Save Custom Web Part Styles as Templates

Before pushing visual styles to other site collections, save the design settings from your source SharePoint site:

1. Navigate to the page on your **source site** featuring the styled web parts (e.g., Quick Links, Banners, or Tabs with Cards).

2. Click **Edit** in the top right corner of the SharePoint page.

3. Open the **Web Part Properties** pane for the web part you want to template.

4. Click **Save Settings** to capture your visual styling and color configuration.

5. Repeat for any additional web parts on the page.

> **Note:** Saving settings captures the visual schema—including custom hex colors, font treatments, and card styles—without copying site-specific text or links.

### Step 2: Push Branding via the Origami Installer

Once your source web part styles are saved:

1. Launch the **Origami Installer** interface.

2. Select the **Copy Branding** module from the main menu.

3. In the **Source Site** field, enter the URL of the site containing your saved web part styles.

4. In the **Destination Site** field, enter the URL of the target SharePoint site collection.

5. Click **Copy**.

The execution takes approximately 10 to 20 seconds to replicate the design schema across the target site.

### Step 3: Verify and Add Content on the Destination Site

1. Open your **destination site** in a browser window.

2. **Refresh** the page (`Ctrl + F5` or `Cmd + Shift + R`).

3. Existing Origami web parts on the target site will update automatically to match the source design.

4. When you add new Origami web parts (such as _Tabs with Cards_ or _Quick Links_), they will automatically inherit the updated brand template.

## Frequently Asked Questions

> **Does copying branding overwrite existing content on the destination site?**
>
> No. Copy Branding only transfers visual properties, color codes, and web part style configurations. Your existing links, text, media, and site data remain completely intact.

> **Do source and target sites need to be in the same tenant?**
>
> Yes. The Origami Copy Branding tool operates within your SharePoint Online tenant boundary to push design schemas across site collections securely.

> **What happens if I update the source design later?**
>
> If you update your master intranet design in the future, it can be manually copied to other sites again.
>
> - First, save the new web part settings on your source site
> - Re-run the Copy Branding step for your target sites to propagate the updated look and feel.
